Getting Involved

If you are interested in getting involved in research in the lab, the best place to start is to read some of our recent publications to get a sense of the work we do. You can find a list of our publications here.

Prospective PhD Students

Prospective PhD students should apply to the PhD program in Computing & Data Sciences. The application deadline is December 15 each year.

In your application materials, please mention your interest in working with Dr. Joshua Peterson and in the intersection of cognitive science and machine learning. To discuss research fit, email Dr. Peterson (show email).

Admitted students are guaranteed five years of full funding while in good standing.

Master's Students

Existing MS students in CDS or related departments are welcome to get involved in research in the lab. To inquire, please email Dr. Peterson (show email).

Undergraduates

The lab is always looking for undergraduates who are interested in getting involved in research. If you are a BU undergraduate with an interest in cognitive science, AI, machine learning, or related areas, contact Dr. Peterson (show email).

More experienced students with a clear project idea in mind are also welcome to propose directed study projects, which allow students to receive course credit for their work.

Postdoctoral Researchers

To inquire about whether there are any currently open postdoctoral positions in the lab, please email Dr. Peterson (show email).
